• HAGUPIT (named RUBY in the Philippines) continued moving over the western Pacific Ocean on 2 December, strengthening into a Typhoon. On 3 December at 12.00 UTC, it was a Typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h and its centre was located approx. 170 km south-west of Yap and 1 200 km east of the coast of southern Philippines.
• In the next 48 h, it is forecast to continue moving north-west over the Pacific Ocean, strengthening, passing between the islands of Yap and Palau in the afternoon of 3 December, then continue moving north-west over water, in the general direction of the Philippines.
It will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on 4 December.
The uncertainty of the forecast track intensity after 5 December remains very high.
• As of 3 December 9.00 UTC, a Typhoon Warning (NOAA) is in effect for Yap and Ngulu (Yap State), as well as a Tropical Storm Warning for Koror and Kayangel (Republic of Palau).
